Mission:
Camp Fundamentals utilizes sports as the catalyst to assist participants in the transition from the elementary to middle and middle to high school. The camp will expose and provide participants an opportunity to engage in athletic activities, refine and develop individual athletic skills, wellness, and team concepts in addition to reinforce academic knowledge, communication and leadership skills.
Target Population:
Camp FUNdamentals Sports Academy is for girls and boys ages 10-15. The camp offers character education, academic enrichment, and small group instruction and play in volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and football
Site:
The camp will be held in the gymnasium on the campus of Oxon Hill High School, conveniently located in Oxon Hill, Md.
Lunch:
Lunch will not be provided. However, pizza, Chick Fila, Subway and other items will be available to purchase at lunch from our concession stand. Weekly menus will be provided.
Before and After Care:
Before and after care is offered at for your convenience at an additional minimal cost. Before care is 7:30 am to 8:30 am and after care is 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Discounts are offered for siblings.
Camper to Counselor Ratio:
Participants will be divided into age appropriate groups and will be supervised within an ideal camper to counselor ratio.
Supplies:
Campers should come dressed in a T-shirt, shorts, and closed toe shoes (no sandals or dresses allowed). Campers will be provided 2 screened-shirts and assigned a group color to wear to camp daily.
Application:
At the end of the day, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate learned skill through individual and/or team competitions with recognition and prizes being awarded.
