SPIKE IT Winter League – AAU Sanctioned & Built for Competitive Growth

  • 18U, 17U, 16U, 15U, 14U, 13U divisions
  • AAU Membership is required for all participants
  • Team capacity: Maximum 16 teams, 12 players per team

When

Winter League

Operates from December to March. Open house occurs the week after the official volleyball tryouts. Registration remains open for participants until December 30th.

Where

Practices and games are held at local recreation centers (TBD) and Athletic Republic, located at 6417 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, MD.

Weekday - 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Weekend Game - start in January- played on Sunday

Spike It Winter League 25-26

SPIKE IT Winter League is AAU sanctioned league created to provide a cost-effective option to club/travel volleyball.

The League will allow athletes who desire to compete may have an opportunity to participate in competitions among local/regional teams. 

AAU MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION:

Seeking to field teams in the 

18u, 17u, 16u, 15u, 14u, 13u

Tryouts not required, however player evaluations are utilized to balance and level the teams.

Open House on Nov 23, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Skills clinics, rec league or school play (middle or high school) experience recommended.    

All players are considered free agents and be placed on a team (paired skill level, and/or position). 

Format: 

2 games to 25, starting at 4 points, pool play. A minimum of 4 players must be present to begin the match.

10-minute grace period after which a forfeit will be declared 25-0. The official will provide an additional 10 minutes for the team to produce sufficient players for the next set.

If the team has a minimum of players present prior to the expiration time, play will begin immediately. If after the time expires and the team does not have the minimum number of players to play, the second set shall be declared a forfeit as well 25-0.

The home team will provide line judges only.
